Finance Officer, Maseru, Lesotho
The Strengthening High Impact Interventions for an AIDS-free Generation (AIDSFree) Project is a five-year cooperative agreement funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (2014-2019). AIDSFree is implemented by JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. with partners Abt Associates, Inc., Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, EnCompass LLC, IMA World Health, The International HIV/AIDS Alliance, Jhpiego Corporation, and PATH. AIDSFree supports and advances implementation of the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief by providing capacity development and technical support to USAID missions, host-country governments, and HIV implementers at the local, regional, and national level.
AIDSFree is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to support the AIDSFree program in Lesotho which focuses on supporting and protecting young girls and women through strengthening school based HIV and violence prevention education, changing norms within communities, increasing condom promotion and provision, and strengthening post-GBV care and post violence care structures.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure all processes are executed in accordance with GAAP, JSI | AIDSFree policies, and government regulations (i.e. USAID, FAR, and other federal and state regulations) and performs day-to-day activities consistent with understanding JSI| AIDSFree basic requirements, standard operating procedures, resources, tools and quality standards.
- Perform duties that will include processing accounts payable, performing payroll operations and preparing and reviewing monthly reports, and analyzing and reconciling data discrepancies.
- Supporting office operations, including reviewing and approving wire transfers, reviewing and uploading monthly Home office accounting data.
- Monitor field cash request as well as prepare monthly cash analysis.
- Assisting with issuing checks of payment for processed transactions and log payments, and distributing and/or mailing checks to appropriate individual/vendor
- Preparing and submitting deposit, wire transfers, bank draft requests to the bank
- Assisting with administration company’s insurance management, including enrollment, yearly program renewals, reconciliations, and claims
- Assisting with recruitment, performance evaluation processes, and work planning
- Assist with tracking and reporting of cost share
- Communicate and coordinate with technical teams and respond to financial questions and providing assistance as needed
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum: First degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant Management field, advance degree preferred

- 5+ years progressive complex accounting and financial management experience
- Proven ability to work both independently and as an effective team member
- Experience and knowledge of USAID Finance and administrative standards and regulations
- Proven working knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software
- Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple on-going assignments
- Proficiency in Microsoft office, particularly Excel
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent time management
- Proven analytical and problem solving ability
- Ability and willingness to travel to the field for program support
